Friday
Friday morning Eli had to go to camp and Dave had to work. That left me to do all the last minute packing while watching 3 one year olds and driving Eli back and forth a 1/2 hour each way to camp. I also had to make a last minute Target trip. Yikes! Luckily, my mom came to stay with the trifecta so I could get all my extra stuff done.
When I got back to the house after the drop off and Target trip, I ran around like crazy and packed up all the last minute stuff--sleepy stuff, cold stuff, bathroom stuff, etc. Then I had to feed the boys lunch and try not to dirty too many dishes while clearning left overs out of the fridge. I also had to empty diaper buckets, trash cans, run loads of dishes and laundry, and make sure my phone was charged. While I loaded up the coolers in the car, my mom was putting the crocs on the boys so we could head out, fully loaded and go get Eli. Nate got loose and hid one of his crocs. We tore the living room apart. I was seconds away from leaving the house and buying him another pair of crocs in NH. I had to pick Eli up from camp at 12 and couldn't be late. It was a crunch! At the last second, I found Nate's shoe in the bathroom! We got them in the car and I took off! Hopefully my mom locked the door!!!
I got Eli at camp and we got McD's and went up to get Dave. He works in NH so it was silly for him to drive home to drive back the same way. He made arrangements to leave his truck. I got there after a minor navigational issue (I ended up in an apple orchard...don't ask). We changed a few diapers, handed out some snacks, set the GPS and hit the road. Before we left the parking lot, the rain started...OY!!!
We made one pit stop on the way up and made our way through the Kancamangus highway and it's crazy hair pin turns in the rain. The fog was incredible and the mountain views were amazing.
Because of the rain and taking the scenic route, we ended up at the condo later than we had anticipated. We were hoping to go to Storyland for a quick tour because they offer a free pass if you come after 3pm and want to return the next day (the next day is free). We unloaded the van and got somewhat unpacked, got changed, and headed out to dinner.
We went to the Red Fox which came highly reccommended by everybody on FB. They were right. They offered a toy room for families with kids who were waiting to be seated. They also offered a movie room for bigger kids. The waiter was amazing and told us that our boys were very well behaved (without the use of any electronic devices to distract them).
We got back to the condo late and set the boys all up in the basement/playroom for bed. We unpacked a little more and turned in early for the long day to follow.
