- I've given Dave access to be a "guest" contributer to the blog while I'm at school. I have no idea if/when I'll get a chance to update...Maybe that's why I'm overcompensating this week!!!
- Ben popped up with a little rash last week. It turned out to be excema. Not a major issue...he's going to have Dave's skin...poor guy. A dog walks within 10 yards of Dave and he breaks out into the hives. Also kids with excema have a higher instance of being allergic to nuts/peanuts (Dave). I hope this isn't the case for Ben.
- The EI people came for a re-eval last week. I had been noticing some things so I wanted them to come back. When they came out the first time, the boys weren't even technically born yet, so they were meeting milestones. Here are individual updates:
- Ben: Sensory issues. He NEVER settles down. OK, rarely, but still. There is very little that makes Ben happy. We're now wondering if it's the excema making him cranky (imagine being itchy & not being able to itch...torture!!!). They're sending out a sensory consult for him. Also Oral Motor issues...you may remember the binkie post. I'm not an OT or an SLP (just a lowly SPED teacher), but I know there's something wrong with that boy's mouth. He is physically incapable of keeping a binkie in his mouth. His toungue does weird things when he eats. I can't describe it, but I know it's weird. They're also sending out an Oral Motor consult for him.
- Sam: Mild torticollis (sp?)...that just means that his neck is tight on one side b/c of being squished in utero. He has a slight head tilt and favors looking one direction. His head is starting to flatten on one side because of this. He will be seeing a Cranial-Sacral specialist for 1 hour/1x/week.
- Nate: More pronounced torticollis. His is obvious to those of us that failed out of PT our 1st year in college (OK, I'll give myself credit. I didn't fail out...I switched majors before I failed anything). He will also be seeing a Cranial-Sacral specialist for 1 hour/1x/week. The PT also noticed that when flat on his back (I never remember if this prone or supine...hence I'm a SPED teacher and not a PT) his hands don't meet at the midline. Not major. He'll have a PT consult 1x/month.
- Plagiocephaly: this is aka "funny head shape". Well I'm a panicker. The boys' heads are funny shapes. There are a bunch of reasons for this to happen and my guys have all of them. Their pedi wasn't concerned, but the EI people mentioned it. I went over the pedi's head and made them appt's to go to a plagiocephaly clinic in April. We'll see how that goes. Thank God for PPO's and Thank God for my union (don't get me started on the whole Wisconsin thing!!!).
- I think that's it for now. Hopefully the computer will cooperate and I can upload more pix for you tomorrow...

Very interesting about the eczema and peanut allergy. Alana has horrible eczema and we just found out she is allergic to peanuts.
Hope all the therapy visits go well and the boys improve quickly.
