Contagious

So there's this funny little thing that happens when you give birth to multiples.  When you're pregnant, everybody promises to come and help and clean and feed babies and baby sit and play with Eli, etc, etc, etc.

Once you give birth to the babies, people come over [often uninvited] to look at the babies and offer all kinds of unsolicited advice.

Once the babies are a little older, everybody disappears.  Literally.  It's like we're contagious or something.  Do they think they'll instantly get pregnant with 3 babies upon entering our house?  If that were the case, we could sell tickets...

So as I'm having my own little pity party about being ''contagious'' and how nobody calls us to hang out or come over or go out, Sammy gets a fever.  He has it for about 4 days before the pedi lets him come in for a check up.  They took blood and saliva and put a urine bag on him.  Of course he wouldn't pee while we were in the office.  Sooo...we had to go to a more relaxing place.  I thought Kohl's would be good.  After our impromptu shopping trip, I checked the bag and we had pee!  I brought him back to the office to get the bag taken off.  When I got there, they told me that his rapid strep test had come back negative and there was nothing in the urine to worry about...

Hmm...

So, why does my poor baby have a fever of 102...

Well, they called me the next day to say that his 24 hour strep test came back positive.  Now onto the antibotics.  At that point, there was no point in trying to quarantine the other boys, because he's been sick for 4 days and if he's got it, they've got it.  Well, almost a week later, no sickies on the other 2...yay for that!

Then, Dave comes home from work on Tuesday with something in his eye.  He runs over to the eye clinic to get it checked out.  Guess what he's got?

Conjunctivitis...

Yay...

No wonder people don't want to hang out with us...
