OK. So last night after tubby and teeth, the ice cream man makes a long, slow trip past our house. (WHY???) Eli looked longingly out the window and I felt terrible. (Is it the hormones making me soft?) He's missed the last few opportunities for the ice cream man because he was in bed...so I caved. I grabbed my wallet and my son and headed out the front door. We're both in PJ's (him with no shoes, me with no bra) and standing at the end of the driveway. He decides on the ever popular Dora ice cream treat. Okee dokee. I hand over my $2 and watch my little man's face light up. We head inside and I told him to sit down to eat his ice cream while I went to grab a plate to catch the drippings. He replied, "No mama. It's almost bedtime. I'll eat it tomorrow." Wow! We were floored. We told him what a good idea that was and that he could have it after dinner. What a great moment...until...
he woke up this morning insisting that he should have his ice cream for breakfast and threw a terrible tantrum. I guess he's not as mature as previously thought.

Gag-o-licious
My newest annoying symptom is gagging. I gag when I eat something, smell something, or see something. I almost lost it the other day when a toilet wasn't flushed at the Y. I even had flashbacks that were problematic too. This definitely isn't fun, but I know it could be so much worse.
Poor Dave will cook me supper and I'll end up gagging through most of it. It's not his fault and I tell him that, but it's still terrible. Eli has no idea what's going on. Dave's already warned me that we're having burgers for dinner tonight, but I'm scared...We'll see how it goes...

Insulting the Circus Freak
OK. It's official. I'm a circus freak. I wasn't prepared for this and it wasn't part of the plan, but it's happened. People are asking insulting/inappropriate/obnoxious questions of me everywhere I go. They point, stare, gawk, and gossip when I walk by. They share intimate details of my life with strangers and then set up situations for us to meet so the strangers can gawk too. I am now avoiding social situations so I don't have to bear it anymore. They are upset my replies to their questions and my postings on my blog. I don't know what to do anymore.
I am an exremely sensitive, sarcastic, and cynical person by nature (the perfect mix of my parents). Because of this, pretty much anything somebody says to me upsets me and then my replies insult them. I don't know why people think it's ok to ask questions like "Why don't you look pregnant yet?" or say "You can stop posting belly pix since you don't even look pregnant in them." I'm supposed to let this roll off my back. Sorry people...No...can...do...
My blog is my time to vent. Yes, I'll post fun news about the babies, but right now there's not a lot of new news. What is new is my disdane for this new life in the fishbowl that I'll be living for the next 18+ years.
All I ask is the next time you ask a question or make a comment, think first. If you don't like the frankness in the blog, don't read it.
I don't like being negative here, this is supposed to be a happy, baby, cuddly, sunshine, and blankies place. I also don't like crying in my car, on my couch, or in my classroom. I feel like it's robbing the babies of all the water I've been drinking for them. I don't need the unnecessary stress in my life...for my health...for their health. Please, please, please, try not to insult the circus freak.

Pet Peeves #1
OK. We know I'm hormonal, but lately things are getting to me. Here's a short list. Believe me there's more, but these are the top 3 right now. Maybe I'll start a regular post of these as they come up.
#1 How are you feeling?
Here's my answer: Do you REALLY want to know? You probably don't. If you ask this question at the wrong time, be prepared for TMI. I have no shame in telling you about my most recent bowel issues or things that are leaking out of places or the crazy cramps I'm getting in funny (inappropriate) places. SO BEWARE!!! A more appropriate question would be: How are the babies? or Do you have any updates about the babies?
#2 Are they natural?
Here's my answer: Nope, I asked Jepetto if he could head out to the work shop and whip up 3 more wooden puppets. Or I asked Xavier Roberts to head out to the Cabbage Patch and pick me 3 little plastic/cloth babies with yarn hair. Hello people!!! If you're asking this question, you need to rethink your approach.
#3 Any sort of reference to Octomom/John & Kate
How are we similar? We have multiples? Yes. That's true. However, that's where the similarities end. I have a job and I don't plan on having the state support my babies. I am only mean to my husband sometimes and my hair is relatively normal. C'mon people! It's insulting to say the least! P.S. I'm only having 3!!!

4 1/2 Hour Appointment
Yesterday we made our trek into Boston and it was a nightmare. The traffic was terrible. I had to pee. We were a 1/2 hour late for our appointment. Oy vey. But I guess it's necessary when we have to see the best guy around to make sure the L.L. Beans are doing everything right.
First, we had an ultrasound. It took forever since they have to measure 3 babies. They checked for Down's Syndrome and didn't see any of the characteristics. I can't have the bloodwork done since I'm carrying 3 babies, my numbers would automatically be high. So we cleared another hurdle! Yay!
Then we met with the nurse who had to go through the lists of do's and don't's. The obvious stuff, no sky diving, no skiing, no motorcycle races. That puts an end to my summer plans, I guess.
After the nurse, we met with Dr. M. for more Q & A. He's funny and we get a kick out of him. He's laid back, but he knows what he's talking about. We definitely feel comfortable asking him silly questions. Then he did an exam. This of course involved an "internal". I guess I should be used to them by now. He checked my cervix and said it looked good. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but if he says it's good, then it's good.
The last stop was for bloodwork. Dave was ready to pass out from lack of nutrition by this point, so he went downstairs for lunch while I filled about 20 tubes of blood.
I know it doesn't seem like much, but we had to WAIT A LOT. In between each visit. In the middle of some visits. It was nuts! We made it and we're happy that everything looks good.
I know I've tortured you enough and you just want to see pictures of the babies...

The top pic is the twins. It looks like they're in a bunk bed. It's sort of foreshadowing.
The bottom pic is the "onesie" with a profile. So far the nose looks cute! (unlike me & Dave) Let's hope it stays that way!
