4 1/2 Hour Appointment

Yesterday we made our trek into Boston and it was a nightmare. The traffic was terrible. I had to pee. We were a 1/2 hour late for our appointment. Oy vey. But I guess it's necessary when we have to see the best guy around to make sure the L.L. Beans are doing everything right.

First, we had an ultrasound. It took forever since they have to measure 3 babies. They checked for Down's Syndrome and didn't see any of the characteristics. I can't have the bloodwork done since I'm carrying 3 babies, my numbers would automatically be high. So we cleared another hurdle! Yay!

Then we met with the nurse who had to go through the lists of do's and don't's. The obvious stuff, no sky diving, no skiing, no motorcycle races. That puts an end to my summer plans, I guess.

After the nurse, we met with Dr. M. for more Q & A. He's funny and we get a kick out of him. He's laid back, but he knows what he's talking about. We definitely feel comfortable asking him silly questions. Then he did an exam. This of course involved an "internal". I guess I should be used to them by now. He checked my cervix and said it looked good. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but if he says it's good, then it's good.

The last stop was for bloodwork. Dave was ready to pass out from lack of nutrition by this point, so he went downstairs for lunch while I filled about 20 tubes of blood.

I know it doesn't seem like much, but we had to WAIT A LOT. In between each visit. In the middle of some visits. It was nuts! We made it and we're happy that everything looks good.

I know I've tortured you enough and you just want to see pictures of the babies...

The top pic is the twins. It looks like they're in a bunk bed. It's sort of foreshadowing.
The bottom pic is the "onesie" with a profile. So far the nose looks cute! (unlike me & Dave) Let's hope it stays that way!
