19 Weeks!!!

Every week I marvel at the fact that I've made it another week. I don't know if it's sinking in yet or if I'm getting any closer to wrapping my head around what's happening in my belly. It is becoming more real as my shower is being planned and presents are arriving and overwhelming my house. Oh Boy! (literally)

So the big ultrasound was on Tuesday and we were excited to see our 3 little men. They were very proud of their "manhoods" and loved being on camera. Baby B actually peed while on the screen. We could see it! Baby A (Han Solo) is proving to be like his namesake in 2 ways. #1 He is flying Solo for sure. He is positioned way down and the other 2 are up higher. #2 He is "So-lo" that they couldn't get a good picture of his heart. We know he's got one and it works, but they need to measure the chambers, blood flow, ventricles, etc. We'll be going back in 2 weeks to see if he'll cooperate.

I couldn't believe the u/s took 2 hours. Here's how it went...we had our "1st" u/s with the tech that lasted about 45 minutes. I was psyched thinking this was quick and we were almost done...not exactly. Then (I guess b/c I'm high risk) a doctor had to come in and do a 2nd u/s. She basically did exactly the same measurements as the tech but she had to double check. Then...because Han Solo would not cooperate, a 2nd dr came in for my 3rd u/s. He wiggled me and jiggled me all over the table to try to get Mr. Solo to uncurl himself. I had to pee in between each u/s and then had to get re-gooped for each one. I think I used up about a gallon of the blue goop. My neck was killing me from being cranked in a funny position for 2 hours, but it was all worth it to see my 3 healthy little guys.

For positions, as I mentioned, Han Solo (Baby A) is lying low below my navel, almost in my pelvis. Babies B & C (The Twinkies) are lying transverse across my belly above my navel. It sort of looks like bunk beds. I thought that I had one on each side going up and down, b/c I could feel them on both sides, but it turns out that I feel their hands on the right side and their feet on the left side. During the u/s the twins were having a blast kicking eachother in the head. It's already started. I have a trouble maker and 2 wrestlers...

When we go back in 2 weeks, we'll get to bring Eli since we'll all be on vacation. Maybe actually seeing them in person will make it a little more real for him.
