Touch-a-Truck

A local school does a Touch-a-Truck fundraiser every year.  This is our 2nd year going.  You haven't seen the pix from last year because that blog post is still in edit mode.  (oops!).  We had a super busy day, but still managed to get to see the trucks.  They had tons of new ones this year.

It's finally been dry enough and warm enough to take the boys outside to play in the leaves.

They kept saying "1, 2, 3...Hooray!" 

And throwing leaves in the air...

25 months old!

Did you think I would stop at 2 years?  I don't know how much longer I'll keep this up, but here's 25 months...

dancing up a storm at the King Richard's Faire

Kings & Cranberries

The fall is prime with fairs in New England.  We ventured off to the King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA.  It's a medieval faire with all the fixings.  We had no idea what to expect since Dave and I haven't been there since we were teenagers and all I remembered was cold soup.

We got there relatively early (in comparison to the rest of the crowd).  We went right in and got to see a joust.

On the way home, we saw these giant dump trucks filled up with something weird...

It's cranberries!

We were in cranberry country!

 

We pulled over to a bog where they were harvesting and stopped to watch.

Eli even sampled a fresh cranberry...he prefers it to be canned and in a gelatinous state...

 

Super fun to go to the faire and run into a cranberry harvest all in the same day!

 



Pumpkin Patch

I wasn't super happy with the pumpkin pictures we took while we were at Parlee Farm.  I felt rushed because it was crowed and I wanted a "do-over".  We have a church down the street that sells pumpkins in October for a fundraiser.  They have it all set up on their front lawn.  After school, it was clear out (which was unusual, since it's been raining forever!), so we walked down to check things out.

We were immediately greeted by a man who gave the boys stickers.  They LOVE stickers.  I posed them and then let them run free!

Now whenever the little boys see a pumpkin they say "pumpkin patch".  They had a super time and I think I got some better pictures this time.  The man who worked there was super sweet.  He offered to give us some free pumpkins.  I told him that I would buy some, but really appreciated the offer.  He felt bad that I had to buy 4 and he knew it would be expensive.  In the end, he gave he a discount anyway.  Super nice guy!
