More pix...

Because we celebrate the babies' Mirthday, Eli decided we had to celebrate his too.
It's only fair right?  Here he is on his 4 year 11 month Mirthday (yes, that means he'll be 5 next month!!!)

Ben-blue, Sam-green, Nate-yellow
Eli
The 2 stronger guys are starting to "prop sit".  I get stressed out because they're 7 months and not sitting, but I'm constantly reminded that they were 9 weeks early and that I shouldn't think of them as 7 month olds, but as 5 month olds.  I just can't do it!!!

There's his smile!!!

This is Sammy at the park during Eli's T-ball practice.
Yes, he's wearing a snow suit.  It was 36 degrees!!!

Lil' Natey bug all snuggled up.

Eli got to go to our favorite G-H-E-T-T-O park.  We live in the city, people.

The babies enjoyed their first trip to the park too.
We've started venturing out to eat more too.  Because there's no school this week, Dave decided we should go out to breatfast when there's no crowds at our favorite breakfast place...Dream Diner...

Not my idea of a field trip...

Sooo...Saturday night we put the boys to bed just like we normally do and I konked out just like I normally do.  Because I'm so out of it at night, Dave usually has to get up to tend to any nighttime issues.  Around 11:30 Ben's Angelcare monitor alarmed.  This happens sometimes if the boys move around too much and are out of range of the sensor pad.  Dave went in and moved Ben back to the center of the crib and went back to bed.  It happened at least 3 more times and I eventually woke up because Dave was jumping in and out of bed and cussing up a storm at that point.  I thought we should try to put Ben in Sam's crib to see if it was Ben or the alarm.  Well, we put him in Sam's crib and it he alarmed there too.  At least 2-3 more times.  He also started coughing a weird shallow cough that sounded slightly like a cat.  It was now 3ish and I made the executive decision to go to the ER.

Luckily we got to the ER and it was pretty empty.  Before Ben was signed in and given his fancy hospital bracelet (aka anklet), we were in triage.  He sat in his carseat on the chair and the nurse just looked at his chest and took us back.  Apparently he was breathing super fast...120+ times/minute (if that doesn't sound right, it's because I might have messed it up).

They hooked him up to get his O2 sats and they were in the 80s (awesome)!  They also hooked up his heartrate, pulse, etc.  They immediately put him on oxygen to see if that helped.  Then they decided we needed a chest x-ray.  That was really not fun at all.  This is not Ben in the picutre.  This guy is much bigger.  Ben's face was smooshed down by the "U" in the plexiglass.  He was screaming and I was holding him up by his hands.  Who invents these things???

His lungs were clear so we were on to the next thing.  They tested him for RSV, the flu, pneumonia, etc.  They took boogers & blood.  (On a side note, we got the whole ER's attention when they had to poke him in both arms to get blood...).  They even gave him a nebulizer treatment & hooked him up to a nasal cannula.  At around 8am they decided he needed to be admitted.

He was asleep on me on the gurney so we both got wheeled upstairs while I held the O2 blower thingee near his face.  Once we got upstairs, they tested him for RSV (yes, again), rotovirus, etc.  Now they took boogers & poop.  All he didn't give them was urine or saliva.

He continued to breathe super fast but they discontinued the O2 and just hooked him up to monitors to watch the situation.
Doesn't he look sick?  If it wasn't for the industrial crib, you wouldn't even
know he was in the hospital.

We ended up staying until late Monday morning.  Nobody could ever figure out what was wrong.  Even when we went for our follow up at the pedi, nobody knew.  He's still breathing fast, but we're supposed to watch it.  Other than the O2 and the nebulizer, he never got any medical intervention.  So weird.  We are very thankful for the Angelcare monitors though.  They're what alerted us that something was wrong.  They're worth their weight in gold & every penny we paid for them (all 3 of them).

While we were there though, it made me appreciate how lucky we truly are.  I thought of our lil' buddy Linus all the time.  We have been truly blessed to have 4 healthy & happy little boys!!!

Field Trips

So we've finally ventured out of the house and we've been having a blast!  We even attempted to eat out at a restaraunt.  Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera!  I know, I'm fired!

Today was Eli's first t-ball practice and we made it out without turning into popsicles.  Literally.  It was 36 degrees and windy.  We dressed the babies up in their fuzzy bear suits and had the bundle-me's on their carseats.  They mostly behaved and slept.  Sammy woke up and I walked over to the playground with him where he went for a ride in the baby swing.  It was his first time!  I can't wait to give the other two guys a try.  Eli rocked his t-ball practice (kinda).  He's never used a baseball glove, so that didn't go so well.  I was surprised that he also had a hard time throwing (like 2 miles in the wrong direction) and hitting off the T.  He was hitting the T more than the ball.  It turns out he's the youngest kid on the team and he's never played before so I think they'll cut him some slack.  He made it onto the Red Sox though.  Bring it on!

Then this afternoon, we took a trip to Kohl's to cash in my extra bucks and coupons (love that place).  The babies did laps around the store with Dave.  It's a bit of a tight squeeze to fit them around the clothes and stuff.  They got a few stares, but not too many.  More happy comments than nasty comments & that's always good.

Then a quick trip over to Staples and we were on our way home...or so we thought.  We had planned on trying a restaraunt this weekend.  We were planning on tomorrow...BUT we really wanted to go today.  So we did.  We had bottles with us in case we were out late so we gave it a whirl.  We went to a local pizza place, Sal's, which was right down the street.  We were familiar with the layout and it's counter service so we knew we wouldn't have to worry about waiting for a waitress & to be seated.  We went in and I claimed a nice corner by the window.  They didn't have enough high chairs so we just left the babies in their carseats & lined them up on the floor.  I ordered the pizza and it was a 20 minute wait for the food so we fed the babies.  We left them in their seats & propped their bottles on their bundle-me's.  It all went pretty smoothly.  Eli was the biggest issue because he was flirting with this adorable little 3 year old, Lilly.  Luckily her grandparents were good sports & let him sit with them (I KNOW!!!  I never would have let that happen Before Triplets).  We made it out unscathed.  Everybody was pretty exhausted (including the adults) when we got home so hopefully it's a quiet night...

It's so nice to finally be getting out of the house.  I didn't realize how much I missed it!

Eli was heartbroken when we took this picture because he wanted to have "Red Sox" day at school.  Because he needs to wear a uniform, he wasn't allowed to.  So, we let him wear his Red Sox sweatshirt over his uniform.
Gotta love hand me downs on the babies!  What are we gonna do when we run out???
Uh-Oh!!!

7 Months Old!

Happy 7th Mirthday!!!
