Eli's been having a hard time adjusting to the thought of the babies. We've made slideshows to watch, a paper chain to rip, and he reads stories to them every night. It's unclear if it's helping the regression issues he's been having. He's gotten better with the baby talk, he's still obsessed with his "dipey" (a diaper), and he's wetting the bed and sucking his thumb like crazy. It makes our lives a little more exciting to say the least.
Well today he was playing with a snowglobe that plays "You are My Sunshine." He starts singing along and says, "You are my sunshines" (to the babies of course) and "You'll never know, brothers, how much I love you". OK. If that doesn't melt your heart at least a little bit, then I don't know what else to tell you.

27 Weeks...WooHoo!!!
I'm very excited to make it to 27 weeks. Only 1 more week until the big 28 week milestone. I feel like this is going by very quickly (of course there are times I'd like to fast forward through too).
Lately I've been stressed/anxious. Those of you who know me, know that this is the norm and don't see why this is news. I'm just panicking that we'll never be ready and we'll never have all the stuff we need. We had our shower a few weeks ago and we got sooooo much stuff, but we still need soooo much more. I'm just freaking out that we'll have the babies and no bottles to feed them or equipment for my pump. Because Dave's time is so valuable, I don't want to drag him around buying stuff and I really can't go out unchaperoned. We'll get there eventually, I just have to breathe...easier said than done...
I'm also panicking about helpers after the babies are born. I feel like I'll need so much help, but don't know who to ask or how to handle them. I really think I'll need people to do "chores" like wash bottles, diapers, etc, but how do you ask people to do that? I know it's all silly stuff, but this is what consumes me at night when I should be sleeping...

Bloodwork...
So I got the results of my blood work and I don't have GD!!! They've been watching me closely and hopefully this was my last test. I can't believe I passed given my affinity for pop tarts and donuts.
They did find that my iron levels are a bit low, so I need to add an iron supplement to my day. Have you ever taken iron? Have you ever taken a pre-natal vitamin? Know what happens when you take either one? Can you imagine taking both together? Yikes! I hope my fiber pills will take care of that problem...

Some pix...
I know it's been awhile so I've got some pix to share...
Eli's helping Dave hammer the baseboard in our room.
Dave & I with the triple decker at the shower...all we need is babies!!!

Dave & I cutting the cake. This was at 24 weeks for the belly pix.

We let Eli graffiti his walls...I mean help paint them.
Dave & Eli before Eli's surgery

Eli & I made a paper chain to count down the days until the babies' arrival. He takes off 1 loop everyday.

Eli's big boy room is painted!!!

My 26 week belly. It's measuring 49" around...

Dr. Update
We had an u/s at 7:45 today so we had to leave home at 5:30. Yikes. I was a mess. I haven't woken up that early in forever! Eli slept at J & Amy's to ease the morning transition.
Stats: Weight up 5 lbs from last week (which is good b/c I lost 1 lb last week) BP 110/60
The appt went well. It was long though, of course! I was shocked initially b/c they had me do my glucose test. Well, I had just finished a pop tart, so oops! I bet it's gonna come back with my sugars elevated a bit. I'm not looking forward to the diet since so little is appealing to me right now. It's driving Dave crazy (I know...the poor guy has to deal with me and all of my crazy issues).
Next up was the u/s. We had the friendly/chatty tech. She checked out the boys and the fluid and everything looked good to her. She checked my cervix (internally--it's been awhile since I had an "innie" u/s) and it was almost 5cm. She had a "helper" with her and they were both shocked that a triplet mom had such a super cervix. Then a doctor came in and his words were something like, "Baby C has some extra fluid, but Baby B's fluid is still in the average range". That sounds like good news to me, right?
Then I was off to see Dr. M. He was pleased with my cervix (how could he not be?). And my most nagging symptom of late is that when I stand/walk for 10+ minutes I get woozy. This limits some of my activities both in and out of the house. No washing dishes or standing in the shower. It's tough to brush my teeth and get my hair/makeup together. I asked if I could get a wheelchair. He said that if I'm doing something that requires a wheelchair, then I probably shouldn't be doing it. Hmm...well...I still need a wheelchair so if you've got one laying around, let me know.
Also I look forward to my daily "field trips". This is just getting out of the house. I've pretty much been in lockdown and need to get out to prevent myself from losing any additional brain cells. I would love some chaparones if you're in the mood to hang out with the super duper pregger lady. It doesn't matter where we go, as long as I can sit or roll.
Keep up the prayers for the little ones! I get a week off from the dr for good behavior next week. Maybe Dave can actually work 5 days and get a full paycheck next week!!!

26 weeks down...10 more to go (hopefully)
We're excited that we've hit the 26 week mark. 2 more weeks until we hit the important 28 week mark. As usual though, every minute, hour, day, week is important for these little guys' development. We'd love to make it to 36 weeks, but understand that 32 is typical. We hope to make it as long as we can.
We wouldn't be able to do what we're doing without all of our angels. We have angels dropping off gently used baby gear for us, giving us hand-me-down clothes and linens, taking care of Eli for us, helping Dave in construction-land upstairs, and making us meals. Now we just need a landscaping angel and a bathroom angel and we should be all set ;).
Of course the bigger I get, the less mobile I get. Last night was humiliating as Dave pushed me around the mall in a wheel chair, but I got what I needed to get and I didn't pass out so I guess it's not all bad. Lately standing/walking for more than 10 minutes causes some breathing issues. I get a little woozy. This includes the shower. J and Amy let us borrow a shower seat. It's funny taking a shower sitting down, but it's that or pass out...hmm...I'll take a shower seat please. Also sleeping is difficult as I'm only "allowed" to sleep on my left or right sides. This causes some issues in my hips and shoulders and I toss and turn all night long. J and Amy also let me borrow an "egg crate". Remember those? I think we all had them in college, but they're no where to be found now. Well, since I've gotten it, it's been miracle, who knew? Long live the egg crate!!!

Fluid Level Update
Baby B's fluid levels are the same. This is not good or bad. They don't seem too worried that they haven't changed in a week. He still has fluid in his bladder & stomach. His fluid is measuring at about 2cm. This whole thing can stay like this until who knows or it can correct itself. I'm praying for these 2 options (the latter is the best of course!). It can also become worse and Baby B could lose all fluid, not have any in his bladder or stomach and then we'd be headed down to MGH for the long haul.
Good news is my cervix is still 4 cm+. They want it to be more than 3 cm so at least that part of me is cooperating.
Also, weirdly I've lost 2 pounds in 6 days. I couldn't do that if I tried. I've been drinking protein shakes 2x/day and totally pigging out. I have noticed that my "hungry feeling" is different now. I don't know if that makes sense. I'll be sitting around knowing I should eat, but just feeling funny in my tummy. Then I eat something small, like a cheese stick, and my belly's like, "Hell, yeah! Bring it on!". It's just hard to eat when things feel "funny". Anyway, I'm off to enjoy my nightly Chipwich...
Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. Eli's surgery is tomorrow at 10:45 am. We can't let him eat or drink prior...it's going to be torture!!!
