Follow Up Ultrasounds

Today Nate & Ben had their follow up head ultrasounds at LGH.  Both had Grade 1 brain bleeds at their 30 day ultrasounds so we were just checking to see if they were resolving...and they are!!!  I guess when they resolve, they turn into cysts.  Both of them were!  I got nervous when I saw the tech measuring these little things that looked like jelly beans, but I guess they were supposed to be there and that they're a good thing!  I'm feeling relieved that things are looking better.  We'll check them again in a couple of months.
Now I get to worry about Nate's hernia.  We have an appointment for that next month at Tufts.  It totally freaks me out because I don't want it to get worse and then it will be an emergency to have it repaired.  I just feel bad for him because sometimes he gets super fussy and he screams and screams and arches his back and we can't do anything for him.  I feel like it must be his hernia because the other 2 boys don't do it.  Poor little bean!  I just want him to be all better!!!

We had a few "lookie-loo's" while we were there.  My favorite comment was from a woman who had twin grandchildren (girl-boy) and they each weighed 1 lb 18 oz...ummmm???  Isn't that 2 lbs 2 oz???  Hmmm...  It's always fun bringing 2 of the babies out and then confusing people when they ask if they're twins...Ha!  Just my way of confusing people!

How do you do it???

This is a question we hear almost every day (basically any day we venture out in public).  We've compiled some pictures to show how we manage to feed 3 babies...

I can feed 2 babies with 1 hand tied behind my back...

 We hire cheap help...

 When they're hungry enough, they feed themselves...

Turkey Day!!!

We had a lot to be thankful for this turkey day...these 3 little cuties top the list!!! 

Their big brother ain't too shabby either!

2 month check up

The boys went in for their 2 month check up last week and they've grown so much!!! The are all looking good and they loved their shots. They got 3 each and to take something by mouth. Dave came with me and the whole appointment took about 2 hours! Yikes! I hope that doesn't happen every time. The office has smartened up and puts us in the biggest exam room that has 2 tables, 2 chairs, and a lot of space.

19 inches
7 pounds 3.2 ounces
head circ: 36.5 cm

Nathaniel
18 3/4 inches
7 pounds 2.7 ounces
head circ: 37.25 cm

Samuel
19 3/4 inches
7 pounds 10.9 ounces
head circ: 36.7 cm

They've all maintained their position in weight order since birth. Sammy's always been the biggest, Nate's always been the smallest, and Ben's always been in the middle for weight. It looks like Nate is trying to catch up to Ben and pass him. We'll see at our next check up. I'm not sure about the head measurements b/c I don't think Nate has the biggest head...It's funny that Sammy's the longest now b/c he was the shortest at birth.

Forgive the layout of the pix. The upload function was acting up.

You might have noticed the boys' pacifiers. We've color coded things to make life a little easier for us (and our helpers). Each boy is assigned a color. Ben is blue, Nate is Orange/Yellow, and Sam is green. Their blankies, binkies, bottles, all fall in their color. At times we even dress them in their color to make sure we don't get them confused. It's worked out so far!!!

So...it's been a little busy around here. You'll have to forgive me for my lack of bloggy-ness. Nate came home last Tuesday and it's been a whirlwind. A good whirlwind. I'm enjoying every minute of it (almost). We're trying to figure out a routine which has been tough with doctor's appointments, visiting nurse appointments, EI appointments, no school days, and different helpers every day. We do have most of it figured out (for now). I'm sure it will all change once they start to do some new things.
